In the Northeast United States
Charles Ray, US Disaster Response Coordinator, is actively communicating with partners (ABCUSA, D.C. Baptist Emergency Response Team, North American Baptist Fellowship, CBFNC, North Carolina Baptist Men, CBFVA, Virginia Baptist Men, CBF Mid-Atlantic, CBF Northeast, NVOAD, ABA Disaster Response and many others) regarding CBF's response to Hurricane Sandy's destruction in the Northeast. More information will follow soon.
In the Bahamas
CBF of Florida and other CBF partners in the Southeast collected food and children's clothing in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy's destruction. Please pray for the relief supplies airlift being organized by CBF of Florida.
Thanks to the generosity of CBF Florida churches and individuals and to CBF National, CBF Florida has been able to send $6,000 to a partner ministry to purchase a truckload of food from inside of Cuba that will be distributed to our friends in Santiago de Cuba, the hardest hit of the cities. In addition, CBF of Florida will send a representative into the country to oversee the distribution of the goods. Pray for her as she leaves this morning (Tuesday) for a week-long trip into very, very difficult circumstances.
