Extreme Build Daily Post #5

Whirlwind of Activity!

Kentucky Baptist Fellowship Family,

While we said goodbye to some of the pre-build crew on Friday and Saturday, dozens more came from across the state on Sunday evening for registration, orientation and a pizza party! Veteran builders and first-timers alike were welcomed and informed of daily schedules and instructions from Steve Holm, volunteer foreman from St. Matthews Baptist Church.

By Monday afternoon, the house was ahead of schedule, with the roof speeding toward completion, the windows nearing the end of installation, the exterior walls having been completely wrapped with Tyvek, and the vinyl siding being unpacked. Spirits are high so be on the lookout on our website for lots of funny candids from your friends and family! Be sure to submit any of fellow church members to your church newsletter editor so their good work can be recognized!

The paint crew has gathered all their supplies and were awaiting the paint when I visited their warehouse. A delay of their paint arriving didn't keep them from posing for the camera with their new brushes!

Tonight, Becky Colliver from Central Baptist in Lexington will head up the food crew to provide a delicious dinner for all our hard-working volunteers (as well as breakfast every morning!), and we'll hand out gag gifts for daily superlatives. We'll post our winners daily, so be sure to congratulate them when they return home this weekend!

Thanks for following along!
