Senior Pastor (full-time), Faith Baptist Church, Georgetown, KY (added January, 2019)
Faith Baptist Church, a Cooperative Baptist Fellowship-affiliated church in Georgetown, Kentucky, is prayerfully seeking a full-time senior pastor to lead a multigenerational congregation that humbly, earnestly and openly seeks the truth and strives to grow spiritually. Located in the heart of the Bluegrass Region and in the fastest growing county in the state, Georgetown is home to the Toyota Motor Corporation, Georgetown College, Baptist Seminary of Kentucky, and the Kentucky Horse Park. With an average attendance of 150-200, Faith Baptist is a missions-oriented congregation that is called to minister to both the physical and spiritual needs of the most vulnerable at the local and global levels.
The senior pastor will be a creative, inspiring, vision-casting leader. S/he will:
enjoy crafting creative sermons which present an engaging and thought-provoking perspective on the Scripture’s message.
work with staff to design vibrant and purposeful worship services which bring ancient worship practices into a liturgy formed with 21st century congregants in mind.
develop a vision for reaching and integrating diverse groups into our congregation, especially young families.
foster and grow a sense of common purpose and mission among a curious, creative, and theologically diverse congregation.
provide effective and thoughtful guidance about spiritual formation.
inspire congregants to engage in service and to show leadership in developing and sustaining service opportunities.
understand the needs of the community and have well-informed strategies to bring people into the Kingdom of God and to care for the least of these.
lead and manage a cohesive team of ordained ministers and lay leaders.
Candidates should hold a master's or doctoral degree from an accredited seminary or divinity school. It is highly desirable that candidates have at least 5-10 years of purpose-filled and reflective ministry experiences. Worship Leader (part-time), Midway Baptist Church, Midway, Kentucky (added August, 2018)
Midway Baptist Church of Midway, Kentucky is looking for a part-time Worship Leader. The responsibilities will include: planning and leading our weekly Sunday 8:30am traditional worship service; choosing and leading congregational hymns and songs that engage the congregation and support the reading and preaching of God’s Word; planning and leading our weekly Sunday 10:45am contemporary worship service; choosing contemporary Christian worship songs that engage the congregation and support the reading and preaching of God’s Word, assisting in planning, implementing and leading worship for special events outside of Sunday morning worship services; leading weekly rehearsals during our Sunday school hour (9:45am); modeling and leading heartfelt worship in an invitational style – that draws people in, encourages participation, and points people to Jesus; and, recruiting, auditioning, teaching, and training musicians in the church to serve on our Praise Band. This individual will schedule musicians and singers using the Planning Center software.
This individual is expected to: be gifted in leading congregational worship, possess leadership and organizational skills, and be a team player. This individual does not have to lead a choir. The ability to lead with guitar or other instrument is a plus, but not required. This individual will report to the Senior Pastor and work with the Associate Pastor and Ministry Assistant in worship planning.
