Senior Pastor, Lexington Avenue Baptist Church, Danville, Kentucky (added September, 2017)
We are a moderate congregation and welcome people from all backgrounds and denominations. We have connections with Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and Southern Baptist Convention.
Our church was established in 1927, and we continue to worship in a beautify and historic church facility located in the central business district of the city. Danville is home to Centre College, a small liberal arts college, and was named a Top Ten Small Town in the US in 2012 by Livability.com. Worship services are traditional, featuring organ and piano support of vocal and bell choirs, with some blending of contemporary features.
The pastor candidate should have demonstrable leadership skills, biblical competency, and interrelationship abilities needed for leading laity and staff, proclaiming the Word and equipping the church for ministries. Visibility within the community and interaction with other ministries are strongly desired. A master's degree from a seminary as well as additional graduate work and some experience are preferred.

he Minister with Youth and Students will seek to minister to the needs of the Church youth and their families by developing and implementing a ministry that attracts youth to Christ and promotes spiritual growth. All students in grades six through twelve and community students up to age 25 are the focus of the position. Responsibilities are: Administer, develop, and implement youth ministries and programs designed to meet the spiritual, social, and emotional needs of the youth at the Church and in the community; Lead the Youth Committee to plan, coordinate, and implement programs in the following areas: Bible studies,Discipleship, Worship,
Missions, Camps and retreats, Fellowship and recreation, Lead the Church to develop a caring ministry for youth; Work effectively with all ministerial staff to accomplish the objectives of the Church; Participate in planning and conducting worship services; Participate in home visitation, outreach, and hospital visitation; Lead the Youth Ministry Core Team in preparing an annual program and budget that is reflective of the goals and objectives of the ministry; Develop healthy relationships with parents and guardians of all youth, providing resources for them to assist in their growth as Christian parents and to counsel with them when needed; Serve as an advisor to the Church on adolescence issues; Develop and administer programs to recruit and equip adults to work within youth programs. Serve as an ongoing resource to adult leaders for materials, ideas, and coordination; Develop and administer a program of active outreach and evangelism; Communicate with youth and parents through multiple forms of media activities and events available to youth; Oversee and supervise interns as required; Participate in an annual performance evaluation of self and each supervisee on the Church staff; Assist with other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
