Worship Leader (part-time), Midway Baptist Church, Midway, Kentucky (added August, 2018)
Midway Baptist Church of Midway, Kentucky is looking for a part-time Worship Leader. The responsibilities will include: planning and leading our weekly Sunday 8:30am traditional worship service; choosing and leading congregational hymns and songs that engage the congregation and support the reading and preaching of God’s Word; planning and leading our weekly Sunday 10:45am contemporary worship service; choosing contemporary Christian worship songs that engage the congregation and support the reading and preaching of God’s Word, assisting in planning, implementing and leading worship for special events outside of Sunday morning worship services; leading weekly rehearsals during our Sunday school hour (9:45am); modeling and leading heartfelt worship in an invitational style – that draws people in, encourages participation, and points people to Jesus; and, recruiting, auditioning, teaching, and training musicians in the church to serve on our Praise Band. This individual will schedule musicians and singers using the Planning Center software.
This individual is expected to: be gifted in leading congregational worship, possess leadership and organizational skills, and be a team player. This individual does not have to lead a choir. The ability to lead with guitar or other instrument is a plus, but not required. This individual will report to the Senior Pastor and work with the Associate Pastor and Ministry Assistant in worship planning. Director of Music (part-time) First Baptist Church, New Albany, Indiana (added August, 2018)
First Baptist Church of New Albany, Indiana is looking for a part-time Director of Music. As Director of Music, the responsibilities will be to organize and coordinate the overall music program under the supervision of the pastor; work with the pastor in planning worship services; plan for and direct adult choir; plan for and/or direct all other choirs and musical ensembles; lead congregational singing in worship services; supervise maintenance of the music library, musical instruments and equipment, and sound equipment; recommend to the Church Council an annual budget for the music ministry of the church, keep informed of new methods, materials, and directions in worship, utilizing them when appropriate; arrange for a suitable replacement when not able to attend practices or worship services; and, perform other duties as assigned by pastor.
The position will require an estimated 10-12 hours a week. This will include at least one evening, usually Wednesday, to conduct rehearsals and time for a planning session with pastor at least once a week.
