CBFKY Mission

Initiative Grants

What are CBFKY Mission Initiative Grants?

The 2025 Missions Innovation Grant is aimed at fostering mission innovation within our partner churches. To do so, CBFKY is offering grants of up to $1000 for the purpose of start-up funds for new mission opportunities within the life of local congregations. While we are proud of longstanding mission projects, we also sense a desire to try new things. Our hope is that by offering this grant, partner churches will be free to think outside the box and share their stories with others. The initial grants will be awarded to congregations and not individuals. Preference will be given those ideas that are the most innovative. Churches who have been awarded the grants in the past are:

2023: Community Baptist Church, Henderson for their “Community Blessing Boxes”; Georgetown Baptist Church, Georgetown for their “Keep the Flame Lit - After School Program for At-Risk Kids”; Living Faith Baptist Fellowship, Elizabethtown for their “Living Faith Community Gardens”.

2024: First Baptist Church, Morehead for their “Pop-Up Tutoring After School Program”; Living Faith Northern Kentucky for their “New Frontiers Initiative”; Ridgewood Baptist Church, Louisville, for their “Bowl-2-Go Ministry”.

Why are CBFKY Mission initiative grants being awarded?

Sometimes the initial cost of starting a project can serve as a barrier and so we would like to help eliminate that barrier. As part of the grant, recipients will share their story with CBFKY so that we can celebrate new ideas and encourage innovation within our own congregations.

When are grants being awarded?

We are accepting new applications and anticipate reviewing them in late spring 2025.
