Buechel Park Baptist Church in Louisville Interns will have the opportunity to explore pastoral ministry within the context of the local church. This program will engage in contextual practice and opportunities to explore their unique calling and vocational goals in pastoral leadership by means of worship, pastoral conversation, teaching and community leadership.


  • Christians, committed to Christ and the church as the Body of Christ, who reflects an authentic commitment to Christ.

  • A respect and appreciation for the Baptist expression of faith, although this individual does not need to be Baptist

  • Ability to work and serve well with others.

  • Abilities to manage time, complete assignments, and initiate new ideas and tasks.

  • Willingness to ask questions, seek leadership, take risks and learn.

  • An individual who senses a call to ministry and desires a place to follow and explore calling.


The Pastoral Intern would try on the mantle of leadership by participating in the following ministry areas:

  • Weekly pastoral ministry.

  • Community outreach to families of diverse economic, ethnic and racial backgrounds through BPBC’s affordable preschool program.

  • Advocacy and justice mission work such as community gardens which feed the neighborhood and empower refugees and immigrants to grow their own food.

  • Micro loan program that liberates people from predatory loans such as payday lending and advance checking.

  • Intergenerational change by practicing community leadership through partnership with non-profit organizations, local businesses, neighborhood schools and the larger ecumenical community of faith.

We seek a Pastor to continue the aim to reach all of the community: growing families or singles, older adults, and especially children, as they are our future.  Our First Baptist Weekday School, an outreach of our church, is a Christ centered preschool, extended care, and after-school program.  Our growing youth group meets weekly and participates in local missions and is actively involved in church and community activities.  Our senior adult activity group, the Keenagers, takes trips throughout the year to various music or theatre productions and enjoys socializing over shared meals and adventures.

Our church aims to show hospitality within our community in a variety of ways: receptions after church-wide events, dinners for summer Prizery guests, Homecoming luncheons, graduation breakfasts, and more.  FBC houses The Good Samaritan, a community-based service for those in need.  Our Vacation Bible School reaches children throughout the community to help them learn about Christ’s teachings and how to give back to those in need.  Our local missions work has built handicap ramps for people, painted and repaired houses, and distributed food to families in need.  Mission trips to Chile have helped a community establish a church and hold their own VBS.  In addition, FBC annually participates in Operation Christmas Child. 

We have been very blessed to have had a very successful Capital Campaign – in progress ($650,000 plus).  We have renovated and improved much of the physical plant, grounds, and programs.

Senior Pastor (full-time), Faith Baptist Church, Georgetown, KY (added January, 2019)

Faith Baptist Church, a Cooperative Baptist Fellowship-affiliated church in Georgetown, Kentucky, is prayerfully seeking a full-time senior pastor to lead a multigenerational congregation that humbly, earnestly and openly seeks the truth and strives to grow spiritually. Worship Leader (part-time), Midway Baptist Church, Midway, Kentucky (added August, 2018)
Midway Baptist Church of Midway, Kentucky is looking for a part-time Worship Leader.  The responsibilities will include: planning and leading our weekly Sunday 8:30am traditional worship service; choosing and leading congregational hymns and songs that engage the congregation and support the reading and preaching of God’s Word; planning and leading our weekly Sunday 10:45am contemporary worship service; choosing contemporary Christian worship songs that engage the congregation and support the reading and preaching of God’s Word, assisting in planning, implementing and leading worship for special events outside of Sunday morning worship services; leading weekly rehearsals during our Sunday school hour (9:45am); modeling and leading heartfelt worship in an invitational style – that draws people in, encourages participation, and points people to Jesus; and, recruiting, auditioning, teaching, and training musicians in the church to serve on our Praise Band. This individual will schedule musicians and singers using the Planning Center software. 

This individual is expected to: be gifted in leading congregational worship, possess leadership and organizational skills, and be a team player. This individual does not have to lead a choir. The ability to lead with guitar or other instrument is a plus, but not required. This individual will report to the Senior Pastor and work with the Associate Pastor and Ministry Assistant in worship planning.
